If you have light-colored carpets in your home, you probably already have experienced the sensation of panic when somebody spills coffee, red wine, or other materials onto the floor.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]White or light carpets are a luxury. But they also can be risky because they tend to show every stain, smudge, or dirt.

But removing tough stains from light carpets and other surfaces is easy once you have the knowledge from the expert cleaners at Carvalho’s‘ Cleaning. In most cases, even the worst stains can be removed quickly and easily without the use of professional equipment or carpet cleaning contractors.

Kid Stains

Children and light carpets don’t mix. Kids are naturally prone to spills, especially things like juice boxes, sippy cups, and worst of all Kool-Aid.

Brightly colored Kool-Aid contains food colorings that can permanently stain carpets if not treated immediately. But if you can get to the stain quickly enough, you usually can get it up before it sets. Simply blot the stain with a dry white towel, making sure not to rub the stain because this can spread it.

Then combine 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 TBS of dishwashing soap, and about a 1/2 cup of water in a spray bottle. Shake it up then spray the area generously and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. Then blot it again and the stain should come right up.

Dog Stains

Pets are another thing that doesn’t get along with white or light-colored carpeting. They tend to track in dirt and mud and sometimes can have “accidents” that leave tough stains.

Clean up dog or cat urine or feces by first picking up the initial mess then blotting up the rest of the mess to soak up most of the moisture. Then combine 1/4 cup of white wine (or white vinegar) with a quart of warm water in a spray bottle. Spritz it on the stain until it is soaked. Then blot up the mess until the stain is gone. Allow the area to dry fully.

Stains on white carpets don’t need to cause panic attacks. Use these methods or call the experts at Carvahlo’s Cleaning to ensure your rugs are always pristine and pure.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
